Originating in Japan where it is known as Shinrin Yoku, Forest bathing is a gentle, mindful walk in the woods. Along the way there will be guided invitations to help you to slow down, take notice and connect to nature. We do get asked many times, and the answer is no ... no swimming costumes are required for forest bathing! We will be immersing ourselves in the nature of the woodland. There are often muddy puddles, but there will be no swimming involved!
Although the session lasts for 2 hours, the distance travelled is minimal as we slow down and invite you to join in some simple mindfulness exercises that will encourage connection to the woodland around us and help us to step away from our routine day-to-day lives. Research has found that this sensory connection brings many benefits to our mental and physical health. Benefits include strengthened immune system, lowered blood pressure, improved cardiovascular health.
As well as feelings of relaxation and calm, lowering any feelings of stress or anxiety. These mindful, nature connection walks are for adults only (16yrs and over), and whilst we love seeing dogs enjoying the woodland, we please ask that no dogs are brought to these particular walks.
