We've heard a rumour that there's a very friendly dragon in Shining Cliff woods, can you help us find him? Bring your amazing imagination along to help us track the dragon.

We will seek help from the fairies along the way, there will be games, activities, creativity and of course lots of fun! Bring your own packed lunch to enjoy in a woodland clearing. In the afternoon we will have time for some mindful relaxation with a magical Relax Kids session.

A Relax kids class takes children from high energy movement and games through to low energy mindfulness and relaxation.

These sessions for all children are imaginative, creative and lots of fun! Some of the benefits of Relax Kids: Develops confidence and self esteem. Provides tips and tools for self regulation Can improve sleep pattern Improves resilience Builds self awareness and empathy for others Encourages creativity and imagination Helps to focus attention and concentration.

The sessions take place in woodland clearings. The paths are uneven and sometimes muddy. Sensible footwear is essential. Directions and parking information will be given when booking.

This is a drop off session, but we realise that some children can be very nervous and a parent may want to help them until they feel settled.

What you need:

1. A packed lunch and plenty to drink.
2. Sturdy footwear is essential for the uneven woodland paths.
3. An extra layer, as it can feel chilly in the shade of the woods even on sunny days.
4. A waterproof, just in case!
5. The directions and parking information. You will receive a link for detailed directions in the booking confirmation. Please look out for this and do use these directions and do not rely on a sat nav as that will take you to the wrong end of the woods!

(Please note that whilst we might spend time at a fire pit clearing, there will be no camp fire at this event.)

The session will be led by Bonnie McNabb, a licensed Relax Kids coach and level 3 qualified Forest School Leader.

Bonnie has been running Relax Kids sessions in the community and in a number of Derbyshire schools for over 5 years. As a Forest School leader, Bonnie also incorporates Relax Kids into some of the Forest School and woodland sessions that she runs in collaboration with Kate Tuck in their Woodland Connections project.

The session will be supported by Louise Bratby. Having worked in schools for over 15 years and a Beavers group leader, Louise is highly experienced and qualified.

Bonnie and Louise are both DBS checked and have all of the relevant policies, procedures and risk assessments in place.
